Mixed Media Art by Sarah Tappen Windham
I have worked with many materials in my art studies and explorations: oil paint, pastels, photography, Polaroid transfers, watercolor, collage and acrylic paints and mediums. I currently create two dimensional pieces combining some, or all of these mediums.
I am inspired by the colors and delicate complexity of flowers, the ocean, my travels, and surfaces that show the patina of age. In my paintings I create layers of color and texture to create an image that hopefully evokes a feeling or memory while using the materials in a way that is aesthetic and engaging.
